Making the Most of a Closet Pantry

Kitchen Pantry Drawers

We meet a lot of people who are very frustrated with the typical builder grade closet pantry that is provided in homes today. The complaints we hear most often are:

  • Overall space is too deep and many items are hard to reach without “digging.”
  • Shelves are spaced too far apart (vertically) for many items, which wastes a lot of space and forces stacking as a norm.
  • The lower shelves often require getting on your hands and knees to access.
  • The shelves are not as deep as the inside of the pantry, therefore wasting space.
  • Not enough storage overall.

Custom made roll out drawers solve all of these problems and turn a mediocre storage closet into a very well-organized and easily accessible space.

The number one concern we hear about this type of conversion is the side space behind the door on each side that is lost because the drawers must be narrower than the opening of the closet. Most of our customers however find they gain space with this process for the following reasons:

  • We are able to add to the number of storage surfaces by custom spacing them to accommodate each customer’s individual needs (i.e. some short spaces for short items and some for tall etc.). These drawers are organized by size.
  • Because these drawers are custom built we are able to build them to the full depth of the closet “back of the door.”

You can store more, organize easier and have full accessibility (full extension slides) with custom roll outs in your closet pantry.
